Hong Kong is seeing a strong rebound in business activity, with company registrations hitting a new record. In 2025, about 195,000 new and re‑domiciled companies were set up, averaging 22 new companies per hour, or two every six minutes, underlining the city’s appeal as an international business hub. The introduction of a company re‑domiciliation regime has attracted firms from Luxembourg, the Cayman Islands and Bermuda to move their registration to Hong Kong, further reinforcing its role as a regional corporate base.
Foreign investor sentiment is also improving. A survey by the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong shows that over half of U.S. companies are optimistic about Hong Kong’s outlook, up from 33% last year, while 44% now rate the business environment as “very good” or “good”.
Hong Kong’s IPO market remains vibrant, with more t
han 400 companies in the listing pipeline after the city regained the top spot in global IPO rankings. Major financial institutions are backing this confidence with real commitments: U.S. hedge fund Point72 is leasing seven floors at The Henderson in Central, and UBS has taken a 10‑year lease on 14 floors at ICC 2B in West Kowloon.
The article concludes that Hong Kong’s rule of law and professional services are key advantages, making it one of the best gateways for companies entering the Mainland China market.
